Samsung Electronics Philippine Corp. (SEPCO) has tied up with La Salle Greenhills for the eTextbook/Personal Learning Device Project (PEARL). This ambitious endeavor aims to replace traditional books, notebooks, and other school communications with the latest in tablet technology. By utilizing Samsung’s tablet and other digital devices, even class presentations and reporting as well as otehr school works will change in terms of dynamics.
“SEPCO believes that the PEARL project is a great contribution to the advancement of Philippine education into the digital information era,” explained SEPCO president KC Park.
“It will foster the creation of new learning systems and methods in introducing the digital word as the new medium of communication in the classroom and beyond,” he also pointed out.
The project is already at its pilot stage. Based on how Samsung technology can radically change the way school works are done, this will definitely push the envelope of academics in a way that has never been done in a while. Hopefully, it won’t just be limited to exclusive schools but also to the public schools in the Philippines eventually.
