The Filipino Christian organization, Iglesia Ni Cristo, has signed a $175 million contract with Hanwha Engineering and Construction Corporation to design and build the world’s largest domed arena in the country. Among those present during the groundbreaking ceremonies for the project were Hanwha E&C Vice Chairman Kim Hyun-Chung and Head of Iglesia Ni Cristo Eduardo Manalo.

This mega-structure called The Philippine Arena, will have 50,000 seats and will have the world’s largest domed roof of about 36,000 square meters. The work is expected to be finished by early 2014 as Hanwha E&C has already started working on the project since last week.
