Check out this awesome video of a Filipino crew and Korean crew (crew meaning group) doing an impromptu breakdancing or B-Boy battle at a Korean mart in Bacolod. I love the competitive but friendly spirit of this face-off. I think it reflects the youthful and vibrant spirit of Philippine-Korean relations perfectly.
The B-Boy movement is quite big in Korea. It has become so popular that it is common to find young Koreans breakdancing at many areas in Seoul. There are even theatrical B-Boy performances adapted for the stage. The Korea Tourism Organization with the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism even sponsors the annual international B-boy tournament in Korea called R-16.
As proven by the cool video of Filipinos breakdancing with Koreans, this modern language of dance can even cross language barriers. So keep breaking it down, hommies!
Thanks to caldan27 for the video.
