Fans can definitely rejoice! ABS-CBN has brought He’s Beautiful back to the 5:30pm timeslot due to insistent public demand.

He’s Beautiful has dropped its previously strong lead in the ratings game. Ever since its timeslot was changed, its numbers have also struggled to recover its previous performance. In fact, it no longer leads the competing GMA show even if it is already about to wrap up (which is when the highest ratings usually happen).

I hope ABS-CBN learns from this that just suddenly changing schedules isn’t good for ratings.

Thanks to Jaypee for taking note of this and to ABSCBNi for the video.

    wrong move!
this would have done better on primetime.
loads better than BOF… i mean this is Kdrama meet Kpop.
    high relevance for the audience.
they should have stuck with this, the first “Idol drama” they promoted for this year,
but then they choose to do their own “iDOL” show.
abs should learn talaga and they need to listen to what their viewers tell them.

You raised really good points there kirsch. It is quite interesting how He’s Beautiful is actually about K-Drama and K-Pop, which Filipinos both love!

What’s also ironic is that “Idol” totally bombed in the ratings – hence it’s early ending.

      Hi kirsch~!

Your post about He’s Beautiful airing on local TV is quite interesting. I was especially amused with the info about the Daisy Siete gender bender angle (I don’t watch that show so I didn’t know that something like that happened. I know the gender bender thing has been going on for awhile but it is funny how Daisy Siete suddenly does that at the peak of He’s Beautiful’s popularity.

I think the only thing you missed talking about is the OST album of the series which was also released locally but didn’t really hit the album sales charts. ^^

We want a re-run of “He’s Beautiful” in primetime slot.. Maybe Studio 23 will air that re-run in the future.. 🙂

    • joon says:

Yup. I’m sure that will happen anytime soon.

By the way, Jang Geun-Seuk has a new Korean drama and he plays an indie rockstar this time. I know it’s a bit close to most of the musical roles he played before but what the heck, the kid is a good actor. Even if he dresses really weird. 🙂

    • Jaypee says:

Yup, I heard it too Jang Geun Seuk & Moon Geun Young’s “Mary Stay Out All Night/Mary Skipped the Curfew”, premieres on 11/08 in Korea. Wish in 2011 here in Phil. Love it! 😆
